Nonna’s Pizzeria & Wine Bar

Nonna's Pizzeria and Wine Bar

For our first post in the ‘Date Night’ category, I am excited to review this great little place called Nonna’s Pizzeria & Wine Bar. Nestled in the Sylvan Park neighborhood, this pizzeria raises the bar when it comes to quality and atmosphere.

We made reservations during Nashville’s Restaurant Week and I would highly recommend reserving a table since seating is limited. The staff was very friendly and explained all aspects of the menu, most importantly the wine list.

We started off our meal with the Tuscan White Bean Soup. Made with white beans, ham and topped with a pesto covered crostini, Emily and I nearly licked our bowls clean. Delicious.

Next, they brought out our pizzas. Ashley and I chose the Goomba pizza (sauce, pepperoni, sausage, parmesan and mozzarella, pictured above) and Emily went with the Tuscan BBQ (spicy BBQ sauce, chicken, smoked mozzarella and red onion). I couldn’t get over how amazing the crusts were on these pizzas. Wood fire pies are my new favorite thing.

For dessert, I ordered the chocolate dipped cannoli with nutella filling. These cannoli were HUGE and sent my taste buds into another dimension. Ashley and Emily ordered the tiramisu and from the expressions on their faces, I am guessing just as incredible.

Overall, Nonna’s was an amazing place. Service was great and they didn’t pester you with questions or interrupt conversation. The prices were average with pizzas around $10-14 and desserts $2-5. Wine is $8-10 a glass so if you love wine as much as we do, this adds up quick. They do have a small beer list as well.

I would highly recommend this place for a date night since you can enjoy pizza, conversation and wine in an intimate setting. You’ll be walking out full, smiling and in amore!
